Cardinal Building Products Expands, Adds to Sales Team
Cardinal Building Products, a premier Mid-Atlantic distributor of quality building materials, has opened a second location in Lawrence, PA. This Pittsburgh-area warehouse will act as a hub to serve customers in western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Ohio, and western Maryland.
“We wanted to have product on the ground in western Pennsylvania so we could make regular deliveries to our customers in that region as well as expand our network,” said Rick Hess, Cardinal’s General Manager.
Cardinal hired Russell Dudek and Michael Stickles to manage the Lawrence warehouse. Both come to Cardinal with experience in logistics, supply chain, and warehouse management.
“Russ and Mike have been the ideal people to help us set up and run Cardinal’s new warehouse,” said Rick. “They’ve been instrumental in making sure this warehouse is organized and the logistics are in place to best meet our customers’ needs.”
In addition to the Lawrence team, Cardinal has also hired Timothy Maloney as an account manager in New Jersey. Maloney will handle accounts in the central and northern part of the state.
“Tim is a great addition to the Cardinal team because of his experience and his commitment to serving his customers,” said Hess. “We look forward to seeing the relationships he’s going to build and strengthen in his territory.”
With expansion into new territory, Cardinal is looking forward to the second half of 2022, said Hess. He added, “Cardinal is excited for new growth this year and to reach out to dealers to learn how we can partner with them.”
Shaub Promoted to Account Manager at Cardinal Building Products
Cardinal Building Products is pleased to announce the promotion of Mike Shaub to Account Manager.
“With Cardinal’s ongoing growth in the region, we need a dedicated sales representative to focus on a new territory,” says Rick Hess, General Manager. “Having a dedicated and experienced salesperson is an important piece of building trust with our customers.”
Shaub will now head a sales territory in South Central and Western Pennsylvania, as well as Ohio, where he’ll employ his decades of sales knowledge and experience.
Shaub has most recently spent time in the Cardinal offices building relationships with customers through inside sales and learning about Cardinal’s many product offerings.
“We’re excited to have Mike on the road and connecting with customers,” said Hess. “He will be a great asset to Cardinal’s continued expansion.”
Darin Shepard, who formerly covered all of Pennsylvania and New York, has now split the territory with Shaub, with Shepard taking the eastern half of each state.
In addition to working in Pennsylvania and New York, Cardinal employs account managers who cover New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and West Virginia.
New Look. Same Quality
This year, we’re launching a new logo as the first step to
re-brand Cardinal Building Products. We loved our old logo and more over we were proud of the integrity and quality it stood for. The decision for this brand refresh was not made lightly and we wanted to explain why we decided to evolve it.
Firstly, it’s not change for the sake of change. That said, change is inevitable, but that’s not a good enough reason to change a logo. A good reason to change a logo is that it’s not conveying the message you want it to and because there is a better way to do so.
Therefore, our in-house design and brand team, together with input from the Cardinal team and customers, worked to create a new and cohesive visual identity. And we’re starting with the logo.
It uses a simpler color palette and is more refined, but still contains the spirit of the original. It’s an evolution, and one, that we believe, is necessary to convey the positive changes happening at Cardinal.
Over the next few months, you’ll see all the other visuals around Cardinal Building Products aligning with this new direction: on the website, in advertising, and in the pieces that help you get your job done. It’s still us. We’re still Cardinal Building Products. But more consistent and, we hope, more instantly recognizable.
Cardinal Building Products Adds MoistureShield Decking to Its 2019 Product Offerings
Cardinal Building Products, a mid-Atlantic distributor of high-quality building materials, is pleased to announce the addition of MoistureShield decking to its list of offerings.
MoistureShield is a well-established industry brand, with a long history of success in the composite decking market. Made from recycled plastic, their decking is both environmentally friendly and designed to last for decades. It’s also one of the rare composites that can be installed on the ground or underwater without voiding its lifetime warranty.
“MoistureShield is one of the industry’s most recognized brands and we are thrilled to have it on the shelves at Cardinal,” says Rick Hess, Cardinal’s general manager. “It complements all of our other product offerings and gives our customers access to one of the top composites in the industry.”
One of MoistureShield’s benefits is their award-winning CoolDeck® technology, which means their boards absorb 35% less heat than traditional composites, and CoolDeck® decreases heat transfer on contact. This makes MoistureShield products with CoolDeck® the ideal choice for pool decks, docks, and other places where bare feet might come into contact with the boards.
“We’re already hearing good buzz about MoistureShield and we’re shipping product out the door,” Hess says. “We’re excited to able to supply the region with this best-in-class product.”
